Is there change with the Almighty? Today I addressed the immutability of God from the perspective of the Old Testament prophet Malachi, at the conference of the European Association for Biblical Studies.
Malachi, 3:6 speaks about God who cannot be changed by our perceptions or theologies. I show how God’s immutability in this passage is connected to his unchanging views of good and evil. God remains committed to the Thora, even if his people do not. If the sons of Jacob continue in the evil ways of their fathers, they will be judged by God. A serious message. The picture in today’s post is from one of the national papers in Israel. It is brave that they finally start to publish part of the truth of what their government is doing. We will all be judged on the basis of God’s unchanging laws.
